David Kristen

Managing Director, Asset Management

Mr. Kristen has over 28 years of experience in all real estate classes including office, retail, residential, medical and industrial properties located throughout Canada and the United States. He has extensive experience in all facets of real estate asset management including acquisitions, property management, leasing, operations, development and dispositions. He has a proven track record in successfully overseeing a diversified real estate portfolio, implementing and executing asset strategies with a core competency in value-add and core properties. He has successfully repositioned multiple large-scale properties, adding over a half billion dollars in accretive value.

Prior to joining Balfour Pacific, Mr. Kristen held an executive leadership position as Vice President Real Estate and Asset Management at Peterson, a prominent, fully-integrated, Vancouver-based real estate company. During his time at Peterson, he helped grow the real estate portfolio from 500,000 square feet to over 7 million square feet and from $100 million to approximately $2 billion in asset value. Mr. Kristen has been involved in over $1 billion in property acquisitions and dispositions throughout his career. He also has extensive business development and investor relationship experience with both private and institutional clients.

Mr. Kristen spent his early years in commercial real estate as a broker for a prominent national firm where he was consistently a top performer. Throughout his career, he completed thousands of lease transactions in all different asset classes with private, public, government and international tenants. Over the years, Mr. Kristen was actively involved in the community, coaching at West Vancouver Field Hockey Club, North Shore Girls Soccer as well as high school basketball and field hockey on the North Shore in Vancouver.

Mr. Kristen holds a Commerce degree specializing in Real Estate and Finance from the University of British Columbia.
